Fireworks Blaze During Blair’s Payday at Moler Raceway Park By Chris Tilley (Independent Racing Series P.R. Director) WILLIAMSBURG, OH (July 5, 2008)—Robbie Blair of Titusville, PA held on for the $5,000 payday and his second Independent Racing Series event win of the season during the ‘Big Bang 50’ at the Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, OH on Saturday Night July 5, 2008.
Front-row starters Robbie Blair and Dave Hess Jr. brought the 24-car field down to the green flag for the start of the 50-Lap A-Main event. The four cars of Blair, Hess, Whitney and Dohm would mix it up for the first 30 circuits with Blair finally coming out with the point while taking the field to the checkered flag. Seven cautions slowed the main event. Blair’s Custom Race Engines powered Rock Chassis is sponsored by Specialty Products, Genesis Racing Shocks, Hoosier Racing Tire, Bossard’s Used Auto Parts, Slavic Custom Racing Decals, Chelby’s Tanning, Armstrong Lumber, and Maloney Tool/Mold. Runner-up Dave Hess Jr. drove the Craiger Racing Engines powered Rocket Chassis which is sponsored by Hess’ Garage and Salvage, Beacon Lubricants, Texas Roadhouse, Plyler Overhead Door, Hoosier Racing Tire, MWB Graphics and Brozell Construction.
The series will visit the Midway Speedway in Crooksville, OH on Sunday Night July 6 for a $7,000 to win event. The Independent Racing Super Late Model-Sanctioned ‘Jim Dunn Memorial’ event will boast a purse in excess of $28,000. This will be the first series visit to the Midway Speedway which is located off Highway 93, just 20 minutes south of Zanesville, OH.
